HealthConnect improves the quality of our care and service to our members. It ensures patient safety by providing access to an individual’s medical information, as well as providing access to the latest treatments and protocols. Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect further coordinates care by linking the physician’s office, the hospital, radiology, the laboratory and the pharmacy.

Secure and confidential communication

With secure non-urgent e-mail messaging through My Health Manager, patients can communicate with their doctors at any time, from anywhere. This is an efficient and convenient method of communication and enhances the physician-patient relationship. Medical teams respond to member email inquiries within 24 business hours.

Staying ahead of trends

Additionally, we leverage technology to bridge the geographic distance with videoconference meetings and educational sessions. Thanks to recent brainstorming by regional department chiefs, we are currently piloting the use of a webcam for virtual consults between primary care and specialty care physicians.
